Após passagem do ciclone, país busca administrar impactos
As autoridades de Moçambique disseram hoje (27) que há um surto de cólera na Beira.
Cinco casos foram confirmados. Segundo a Direção Nacional de Saúde, as mortes ocorreram no bairro da Munhava, o mais populoso de Beira, na província de Sofala.
O receio é que, após esses casos de cólera confirmados em laboratório, a doença se espalhe.
Há 2.700 casos identificados de diarreia na região, mas ainda sob investigação.
As autoridades de Moçambique trabalham também com a possibilidade de outras doenças se alastrarem no país, como tifo e malária.
O país busca sobreviver aos impactos da passagem do ciclone Idai, cuja força dos ventos atingiu 200 quilômetros por hora, provocando a devastação de vilarejos inteiros, causando mortes e isolando pessoas. O número de mortes supera 446.
